Proctor Leads Close Junior Friday Practice

1 Mins read

Senna Proctor edged out his title rival Jamie Caroline to top the timesheets in official Friday practice ahead of the Ginetta Junior Championship season finale around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.

Proctor’s best effort of 1m 47.794s in his JHR Developments G40J was 0.107s quicker than championship leader Caroline’s best in the second of the day’s two thirty minute sessions, with Dave Wooder a further 0.078s back as the top rookie in third overall.

Matt Chapman had topped the timesheets in the opening session of the day, but he turned out to be only one of two drivers unable to improve their times in the second session, though his time of 1m 48.022s was still enough to put him fourth overall at the end of proceedings.

Dan Zelos was just under half a second shy of his JHR Developments team-mate Proctor in fifth overall, with Stuart Middleton the second fastest rookie in sixth overall with a best effort of 1m 48.412s for Douglas Motorsport.

Billy Monger, a race-winner around the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit at the start of the season, ended the day seventh fastest ahead of Alex Day, Lewis Brown and Kyle Hornby, with less than a second splitting the top ten at the end of the day.

Fresh from his maiden outright win last time out at Silverstone, Patrik Matthiesen was eleventh fastest ahead of Jonathan Hadfield, who bounced back well from troubles in the first session that limited him to just three laps overall.

Ben Green joined Chapman in setting his best time in the opening session of the two, the SuperGreen Racing man finishing up 14th overall, while a close group from Connor Grady in 18th to Sebastian Perez in 21st was split by just 0.068s.
