Eurasia Motorsport will campaign a second LMP2 car in the final two rounds of the 2015-16 Asian Le Mans Series.
Single seater racers Sean Gelael and Antonio Giovinazzi will get behind the wheel of the Oreca 03R that was used by the Philippines-based team in the 2015 European Le Mans Series.
The Jagonya Ayam-backed car is set to run under the ‘Jagonya Ayam with Eurasia’ banner at the 3 Hours of Buriram and 3 Hours of Sepang II which take place in January.
Richard Bradley and William Lok will continue to race the second Eurasia-entered Oreca 3R alongside the Jagonya Ayam effort, bringing the LMP2 car count up to four.
“Both Sean and Antonio started their racing careers with us and it’s great that just three years on we are back together in LMP2,” said Eurasia Motorsport team principal Mark Goddard. “They make a very strong driver line up and we believe we have a very good chance of winning. The car looks stunning in the Jagonya Ayam yellow and red colours and normally good looking cars are fast!”
Gelael and Giovinazzi raced together for Jagonya Ayam/Carlin in the 2014 European Formula 3 Championship. In 2015 Italian Giovinazzi continued with the series, finishing second in the standings, while Indonesian Gelael moved to the Formula Renault 3.5 Championship, also with Carlin, as well as making sporadic appearances in GP2.
The next round of the 2015-16 Asian Le Mans Series will take place at Buriram in Thailand on January 10. Swiss team Race Performance enters the race with a chance of winning the LMP2 title after claiming victories at the opening two rounds.
