Luca Baldisserri to mentor Stroll in Formula 3

1 Mins read

Luca Baldisserri has left his role as the head of the Ferrari Driver Academy and will mentor Canadian teenager Lance Stroll in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship in 2016.

Stroll will be competing in his second season of the championship having been retained by Prema Powerteam, and will also be part of the Williams F1 Team’s development programme, with Baldisserri working with the seventeen-year-old he first met as part of the FDA in 2009.

“Luca’s going to be very close with Williams and especially Prema to help us all try and do a great job next year,” said Stroll to Autosport. “It’s extremely important to have him with us and it’s great that he will continue working with us.

“He’s been with me since a very young age, when he chose me to come on the Ferrari programme. He’s very good at watching what’s going on between the team and the driver – he’s quiet when he has to be, but when it’s time to speak up he says some very good things.”
