Trulli Formula E Team Set for Series Exit

1 Mins read

In the days leading up to the Punta del Este ePrix, Trulli Formula E Team are expected to announce their withdrawal from the FIA Formula E Championship after the team’s catastrophic start to the second season.

At the opening round in Beijing, the team were unable to make scrutineering when a customs issue prevented crucial parts of the car being allowed into the country. The team failed scrutineering in Putrajaya at the second round of the season despite being granted extra time by the FIA to have the Motomatica JT-01s built. The breach of the regulations made by the team prevented them from taking part in the weekend.

The departure of Trulli will see eighteen cars complete for the remainder of the 2015/16 season, leaving both Vitantonio Liuzzi and Salvador Duran without a race seat.

British car manufacture, Jaguar, have been linked as a possible replacement for the team in third season.
