Fielding returns to JHR Developments for 2016 title assault

1 Mins read

After a successful first year in MSA Formula, Derbyshire based driver Sennan Fielding has retained his seat at JHR Developments for the 2016 season, with the aim being to win the title. Fielding was one of the front-runners throughout 2015, picking up three victories over the course of the year.

While he became known for consistency in the middle part of the season, the 20 year old had only made a solitary podium appearance in the first ten races, seeing him languish 100 points behind the leader. By his own standards, a poor final two rounds eventually saw him lose third place to Colton Herta, but still finished as the highest placed driver to have not been in a full three car team.

“Sennan is a dyed-in-the-wool racer who scarcely put a foot wrong in 2015,” remarked JHR team principal Steven Hunter, “We are all delighted to have him back on board.”

“He has always displayed incredible consistency and invariably makes the most of the equipment at his disposal. His racecraft is exceptional and his attacking and defending first-rate. In my mind, Sennan was the standout driver of last season and I have no doubt at all that he will be a title contender in 2016.”

Fielding will himself be joined by Jack Butel, who has already announced that he’ll be returning to the team.

“I’m really excited to be staying with JHR, and I genuinely believe we’re going to have a great season together,” Sennan enthused. “In 2015, we encountered some bad luck early on which put us on the back foot and meant we couldn’t capitalise on the pace we had.”

“It’s been a long winter trying to raise sufficient sponsorship to continue this year, and to have the ongoing backing of such a prestigious brand as Amigos is a massive boost. The best way to repay JHR and Amigos’ support would be to go out there and win the championship.”

Having seen success in BRDC Formula 4 and last year in MSA, Fielding is likely to go into the season as the favourite for the title, especially in terms of experience. However; will face stiff competition from the talented rookies making their debut this season.
