With drivers still yet to be announced, the Toyota brand will be returning to the MSA British Rally Championship with Rally Prep running a factory-approved GT86 CS-R3 on selected rounds.
Commenting on the announcement, Rally Prep Managing Director Neil Yates said: “We’re delighted to be involved in bringing the Toyota GT86 CS-R3 to the BRC. We have followed its development closely and know that it will over incredible value and entertainment for drivers and spectators.
“This is a fabulously designed and engineered car and I think it’s a perfect fit for the new BRC.” he added.
The Toyota GT86 CS-R3 is the only rear-wheel-drive car to be homologated to R3 specification and will evoke memories of David Llewellin claiming back to back BRC titles in a Celica in 1989 and 1990 before Jonny Milner repeated that feat with the Corolla WRC in 2002 and 2003.
An entry has been confirmed for the season opening Mid Wales Stages rally in March with the crew to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
