Andri Oun To Contest 2016 EuroRX

1 Mins read

Estonian Rallycross Driver Andri Oun has confirmed to the FIA World Rallycross Championship website that he will contest the full FIA European Rallycross Championship in 2016 using a Mk7 Ford Fiesta Supercar run by Reinsalu Sport.

Oun took part in the 2015 Estonian Rallycross Championship and finished the season in third place whilst his team-mate in the Estonian Championship was Janis Baumanis, who secured the 2015 title and has been confirmed for 2016 as a WorldRX Team Austria driver. Oun is already familiar with the various WorldRX and EuroRX events and is looking forward to this year in EuroRX:

“I really like rallycross as it is a really spectacular sport from inside the car and from the outside too. I will drive the same car that Janis [Baumanis] won the Estonian championship last season for the first part of the year. As the season progresses I will drive our new car,” said Oun. “The car has had a lot of development and the team is working really hard to make it better and better.”

In what is turning out to be a quality entry list for the 2016 FIA European Rallycross Championship, the Estonian has made his objectives clear:

“I would like to get into the top-12 this season as much as I can, and to be able to test the car in different situations. Hopefully we will also have a top level driver with good experience to come and drive for our team, and if they do I really feel that they can fight for top results.”

The 2016 FIA European Rallycross Championship kicks off in May at the Mettet circuit in Belgium.
