JHR Developments To Continue Clio Cup Hiatus In 2016

1 Mins read

JHR Developments will once again not compete in the Renault UK Clio Cup this season, following Senna Proctor’s switch to Team Pyro.

It was initially announced that JHR would be returning to the series with Proctor, who they guided to second overall in the Ginetta Junior Championship last season.

Proctor has since made the move to reigning champions Team Pyro, courtesy of his backing from BTCC outfit Team BMR, leaving JHR to sit out the Clio Cup for a second consecutive season.

The Derbyshire-based outfit will once again be focusing their efforts on the Ginetta Juniors and MSA Formula, having already announced expanded multi-car line-ups for both championships.

“What was on offer for Senna was great – the deal [with Pyro/BMR] was a very good deal,” JHR boss Steven Hunter told Motorsport News.

“We’re now not looking to run in the Clios this season, but that doesn’t mean to say we won’t be running in the series in the future.”

JHR last competed in the Clio Cup in the opening two weekends of 2014, with their previous full campaign coming a year previous when they led Josh Cook to fifth in the standings.
