Tanevik Confirms EuroRX Supercar Move in 2016

1 Mins read

Tom Daniel Tanevik has confirmed that he will take part in the 2016 FIA European Rallycross Championship in the Supercar class.

The Norwegian driver has purchased the Volvo C30 that Tommy Rustad drove for his HTB Racing outfit during the 2014 FIA European Rallycross Championship and makes the move up from the Touring Car class where he was famous for his exploits in the iconic rear wheel drive Mazda RX-8.

Tanevik is looking to compete in all five events of the series but he has won’t have a chance to test the Volvo until Easter.

“HTB Racing and Tommy had this car for sale, and I like the Volvo. I haven’t driven it yet but the car is going through some upgrades at the moment and I am going to test drive it this Easter.” said Tanevik to the FIA World Rallycross Championship website.

As well as running the Volvo in the Supercar class of EuroRX, Tanevik’s team will continue to run the iconic Mazda RX-8 in the Touring Car class for 2016, which will be driven by Per Magne Royras.

Tanevik holds high hopes for his chances in the 2016 EuroRX with the Volvo C30: “I’m really looking forward to driving my new Supercar and I hope that I can deliver results that I can be proud of, something I think will be possible with this Volvo. My plan is to be among the top five drivers in the European Championship and I hope that I will be able to stand on the podium a couple of times.”
