Ginetta Juniors To Fun Cup: Mailer Joins The Wenhams For 2016

1 Mins read

Former Ginetta Junior racer Harry Mailer will compete in the Fun Cup this season with Apollo Motorsport alongside sibling pairing Zoe and Guy Wenham.

Mailer made his Fun Cup debut in last year’s season finale at Oulton Park, with a strong showing seeing him take a top ten finish with the team alongside Ross Murray and Dominic Russell.

That came after the 16 year old brought his spell in the Ginetta Juniors to an early conclusion, completing only the opening two weekends of the 2015 season with Hillspeed.

Mailer had previously been a regular top fifteen finisher during his maiden campaign in the BTCC support championship in 2014, taking a best finish of eleventh on two occasions.

Apollo Motorsport are entering their ninth year in the Fun Cup, with the Wenham sibling joining the team with plenty of previous front-running experience in the championship.

The duo finished fourth overall in the series last year with the Geometric squad, with Zoe also having British GT experience, while Guy is a former Saxmax champion.

“The combination of these three drivers is a real force to be reckoned with,” said Fun Cup championship director Paul Rose.

“Harry ran as high as third during his Fun Cup debut last year; he certainly did not go unnoticed! 2016 could be a really great year for Apollo Motorsport! I am looking forward to seeing their progress unfold.”
