Experienced single seater driver Kim Luis Schramm has become the fourth and final driver to compete for the US Racing team in the 2016 ADAC Formula 4 Championship. The team, under the old HTP Junior Team name, guided Marvin Dienst to the inaugural title in the championship last year.
The signing ensures that the team, which is run by Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar, has been filled with an entirely experienced line up as they look to retain the drivers championship title. Schramm moves across from the Neuhauser Racing team which supported him in claiming a third place at the Sachsenring.
After finding her feet in 2015, Carrie Schreiner had already been announced as the only driver returning to the team after last season, while experienced ADAC F4 driver Jannes Fittje and French F4 driver Louis Gachot will fill the remaining two spaces.
“My first test has felt good which makes me optimistic for 2016. Of course podiums and wins over the season are a clear objective” said Schramm. “I am pleased to be with Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar and to be part of the team. With US Racing I have the ideal conditions to develop myself as a driver.”
“Kim-Luis is a focused driver who has a lot of experience, especially with the formula 4 vehicle. That has already been seen in the first test,” said team boss Ungar. “He has great potential.”
2016 will mark the fourth year in this championship for Schramm, having competed for two seasons under the previous ADAC Formel Masters Series. Yet at 18, Schramm remains a young talent to watch for the future.
The first round of the ADAC F4 series kicks off at Oschersleben, on April 16.
