Romain Grosjean: “Not an easy week for us”

1 Mins read

Romain Grosjean ended at the bottom of the timesheets on day three of the second pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya after causing three red flags during the day with three off-track moments in his Haas car.

The Frenchman completed 78 laps of the Spanish circuit with his best lap of 1m27.196s being set on the Pirelli soft tyre, with the team working hard on the VF-16’s brake by wire system throughout the day after solving the turbo issues that affected the running of Esteban Gutierrez on the opening two days.

Grosjean went off at turn four during the morning session and went off twice more in the afternoon, and hopes the final day of the test on Friday is more productive for both himself and his team.

“Not an easy day, not an easy week for us, so far,” admitted Grosjean. “The first week of testing went very well. The second has been a bit tricky.

“We’ve had some challenges with the brake-by-wire system on the car, which has made things a bit complicated. However, we’re working on it. At the end of the day, I had an off on turn nine.

“So it wasn’t the best finish, but I think now we know where to look to get the car back to where it should be. Hopefully, tomorrow is a much better day.”
