Video: Behind-The-Scenes Of McLaren’s Bathurst 12 Hours Success

1 Mins read

Mclaren GT have released a behind-the-scenes video of their triumphant effort at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hours last month.

McLaren took a pair of 650S GT3’s to Mount Panorama with the Tekno Autosports squad, with the #59 car of Shane Van Gisbergen, Alvaro Parente, Jonathon Webb leading the way across the weekend.

After leading the way in qualifying, Van Gisbergen would set the fastest lap time ever recorded around the Bathurst circuit during a storming opening stint – however it wouldn’t be all plain-sailing as they had to overcome an electrical issue and a drive-through penalty during the race.

They managed to come through for the race victory through, while the sister #60 car of Rob Bell, Andrew Watson and Will Davison had an eventual race as they fought back to a top ten finish following an early broken suspension following contact.

Featuring contributions from most of the drivers, as well as McLaren GT director Andrew Kirkaldy and sporting manager Bars Leinder, the video gives a brilliant insight into life on and off track during the once around the clock endurance race.
