Sergio Canamasas will continue to race for the Carlin team at this weekend’s Monaco round of the GP2 Series season.

The Spaniard joined the team ahead of his home race at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain two weeks ago, and enjoyed a competitive weekend, and finished fifth in the Feature race on Saturday to score ten points for both himself and the team.

Canamasas can call himself somewhat of a Monaco specialist, having taken podium finishes in both the past two seasons whilst racing for Trident (2014) and MP Motorsport (2015), and he is looking for more success this weekend with Carlin.

“I’m delighted to join Carlin once again,” said Canamasas. “Our fifth place at my home round had a very special meaning.

“Regarding Monaco, it is always a memorable moment throughout the season. Such an incredible layout! I have been working a lot towards this weekend, so my goals are ambitious.

“You have no room for errors at this track, but it makes things even more interesting. But if you make a mistake, you run out of chances. Anyway, I was on the podium the last two years, so I expect to continue in the same trajectory. I am looking forward to driving again in Monaco!”
