Will Burns has strengthened his second position in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup championship standings with a pair of second place finishes at Oulton Park.
The Douglas Motorsport ace increased his lead of former team-mate Jamie Orton in the standings to twenty points courtesy of his first Supercup podiums at the Cheshire circuit.
Burns got the upper hand on Orton in the opening race, storming past him into Old Hall on lap five, before later pressuring Mark Davies into a mistake to grab second on the penultimate lap.
That result gave Burns a front-row start for race two, and he would go on to hold second position throughout to make it six podium finishes in eight races so far this season.
“I’m pleased to consolidate my second place in the championship this weekend with two more podium finishes, especially with them coming around a circuit that I’ve considered one of my ‘bogey’ tracks in recent years,” he reflected.
“The partnership with Douglas Motorsport seems to be getting better and better at the moment, and we’ll be working hard over the two month break to ensure we can go to Snetterton, a circuit I like, and really challenge for the race wins.”
