Championship leader Lance Stroll was in sublime form as he secured a double position for races two and three at Zandvoort on Friday.

The up-and-coming young Canadian set three laps that were fastest than the best of anyone else during the session, meaning the Prema Powerteam driver secured his seventh and eighth pole of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship season.

Stroll’s best time during the session of 1:28.762 ensured he took race two pole, while his second fastest time of 1:28.781 meant he doubled up for race three.

For race two, the Williams Martini Racing Development driver will be joined by Briton Callum Ilott, who was 0.129 seconds adrift in his Van Amersfoort Racing entry, while race one pole sitter Nick Cassidy will line-up third for Prema Powerteam alongside Motopark’s Sergio Sette Câmara.

Maximilian Günther was fifth fastest, also for Prema Powerteam, while Anthoine Hubert of Van Amersfoort Racing will start sixth ahead of Mücke Motorsport’s David Beckmann.

Ralf Aron made it four Prema cars inside the top eight, while Alessio Lorandi was ninth for Carlin ahead of Hitech GP’s George Russell.

For race three, Sette Câmara will join Stroll on the front row, with Günther and Cassidy making it an all-Prema row two, while Beckmann and Lorandi will share row three.

Russell moves up to seventh and will be joined by Motopark’s Joel Eriksson, while Ilott and Aron complete the top ten.
