Felix Rosenqvist will make his Verizon IndyCar Series test debut when he takes to the track for Chip Ganassi Racing at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Thursday.

The 2015 FIA European Formula 3 Champion and multiple Indy Lights race winner in 2016 will become the first Swedish driver since Kenny Bräck in 2005 to test an IndyCar, and will run in Scott Dixon’s #9 machine for the first half of the day before handing the car back over to the multi-IndyCar Series champion.

Rosenqvist is testing at Mid-Ohio on the back of a double triumph around the streets of Toronto last weekend with his Belardi Auto Racing team in Indy Lights, and is looking forward to his first experience of an IndyCar.

“This is an incredible opportunity for me,” said Rosenqvist. “The Verizon IndyCar Series is the biggest and fastest racing series in America, and it’s every driver’s dream to be given a chance like this – and I intend to make the most of it.

“It’s especially thrilling to be doing this with Chip Ganassi Racing, a top team steeped in history that I grew up following on TV. Hopefully I can do a solid job and I’m sure this will be a truly unique experience.”
