Scott Dixon praised Felix Rosenqvist after the Swede drove the Kiwi driver’s #9 Chip Ganassi Racing machine during the morning session around the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course before handing over to the multiple Verizon IndyCar Series champion in the afternoon.

Rosenqvist was on the pace during his 93-lap test, setting the fourth fastest lap time of the morning session behind a trio of Team Penske drivers, and Dixon felt the 2015 FIA European Formula 3 champion and current Indy Lights racer did a great job on his first time in an IndyCar, and believes he would be a great addition to the championship should be get a drive.

“I think he did a really good job,” said Dixon to RACER.com. “If he’s placed in the right situation, I think he can really thrive.

“The cool thing is he has a ton of experience; he’s driven a lot of open-wheel cars and a lot of sports cars, so for a young guy, he’s got a lot of miles under him. He didn’t fall off at all, and was better than some of the Penske guys.

“He’s well-rounded and picks things up quickly. I think he’s a heck of a talent and I hope he finds something.”
