Malaysian driver Weiron Tan will rejoin Carlin for the remaining races of the 2016 FIA European Formula 3 Championship, starting this weekend at Zandvoort.
Tan made his series debut earlier this season with the team at the Red Bull Ring, and claimed a best finish of thirteenth in race two, and will join Alessio Lorandi and Ryan Tveter in the three-car team.
The twenty-one-year-old decided earlier this year to cut short his second season in the Pro Mazda Championship in the United States to race in Europe, and Tan is now excited for the opportunity that has been handed to him by Trevor Carlin and the team.
“I’m delighted to be joining Carlin for the remaining FIA F3 races this year,” said Tan. “Big thank you to Resorts World Genting and Trevor for making this possible.
“I really enjoyed my time with the team in Austria and I want to learn as much as possible in the races ahead and improve with every outing. While the rest of the field have an additional half a season’s racing and testing on me, I know I have the support around me to make some good progress in the months ahead.
“We had a good official test in Hockenheim recently, ending P6 overall, which showed potential so I’m really looking forward to the upcoming events!”
