Sennan Fielding took his fifth win of the season as he closed in on the F4 British Championship lead. The JHR Developments driver made the most of contact between his rivals into the first corner and never looked back at the Rockingham Motor Speedway.

Rafa Martins had made the best getaway creating four abreast into the Deene Hairpin. Contact with pole sitter Nicolai Kjaergaard prevented him from storming off though. Amazingly, Martins saved his car from a spin and continued as Fielding took the lead.

Further back, Patrik Matthiesen crashed bringing out the safety car. With only one lap to recover, leader Fielding was straight back on the power as Luis Leeds went with him across the line. Green flag racing didn’t last long though, as Jack Martin‘s stricken machine brought out the safety car once again.

Max Fewtrell had overtaken Jamie Caroline in the previous lap and set about attacking the leaders when the lights went out. The top three quickly broke away as Caroline dealt with the pressure behind.

Back at the front, Fielding and Leeds battled over the fastest lap, yet Leeds himself was unable to challenge for the lead. Fewtrell kept within striking distance, knowing that he couldn’t afford to let his championship rivals run off down the road.

In the end though, a comfortable victory for Fielding allows him to close up the gap in the championship as he rescues 25 valuable points. Leeds and Fewtrell would round out the podium.

As it was in Knockhill, Caroline formed a queue behind him. While Alex Quinn had settled into fifth a late move from James Pull with two minutes remaining saw him grab valuable championship points.

In seventh overall was rookie Ayrton Simmons. While he was unable to keep up with the leaders, he did an excellent job of holding up Petru Florescu behind. Rounding out the top ten was Martins and Devlin DeFrancesco who had started at the back.
