Some of most cars head to the streets of Glasgow

The first IGNITION Festival of Motoring will take to the streets of Glasgow, some of the coolest and most iconic vehicles will parade around the specially constructed one-mile street circuit circling the Glasgow’s SECC.

The three-day show will take place from the 5th to the 7th of August and will showcase some of finest cars in the world today.

The weekend will include some amazing performances including hot laps from the Red Bull Racing RB7, supercars, F1 cars and other dragsters taking to the streets of the Scottish city.

Special guests Mark Webber, David Coulthard, Shane Lynch, Top Gear’s The Stig and local heroes Gordon Shedden and Jimmy McRae will all be attendance.

“IGNITION is a new type of car show. Yes, we have halls packed with fabulous classics, mouth-watering moderns and specially themed displays. But we also have the unique street circuit where visitors can see and hear their favourite cars in action. And the sight and sound of a modern F1 car in full flight is something never to be forgotten,” said Jeremy Vaughan, Event Director.

The F1 car will be the main attraction over the three days with the noise and the beauty of the modern F1 car belting around Glasgow.

VisitScotland’s Director of Events, Paul Bush CEO believes it will a one in a kind event, “IGNITION is shaping up to be a motoring festival like no other, with a quite spectacular line-up of live action, and we are delighted to be working in partnership with the event through EventScotland’s International Funding Programme.”
