Jamie Caroline: “I’m Still Determined to Take the Race Win”

1 Mins read

Jamie Caroline feels he deserves a few decent results as the year comes to an end. He, along with the rest of the F4 British Championship, head to Rockingham for the eighth round.

As the season starts to draw to a close, Caroline will hope to end on a high having picked up four podiums on his way to ninth in the standings. He accepts his performances haven’t been what he expected, but will be aiming to put that right this weekend as he builds his relationship with Fortec Motorsports.

“In the last few rounds, I think I’ve shown my pace with a good performance in qualifying but then the races have turned out to be difficult,” Caroline said. “A double DNF at Snetterton and then the fact we were out of position for the races at Knockhill means I haven’t really picked up the results I should have done since the summer break.

“I’m aiming to put that right this weekend and if I can continue with my recent qualifying performances then I will be in a good position for the three races.”

At the last round in Knockhill Caroline picked up a fourth and an eighth place, but was denied a potential podium finish after a disastrous race two.

“With three rounds to go, I’m still determined to take the race win that I feel my performances have deserved this season. I know what it takes to win at Rockingham after a double win in the Ginettas last year, so I’ll be giving it my all to challenge at the front this weekend to put my recent misfortune behind me.”
