Priaulx Loses Win; Nicosia Handed First Victory

1 Mins read

Seb Priaulx has lost his maiden Ginetta Junior Championship victory at Knockhill, with Geri Nicosia picking up his first win in the championship in yesterday’s second race.

Priaulx was deemed to have jumped the start of the twelve encounter, with the stewards handing him a thirty second penalty to his race time – dropping him to thirteenth.

Fellow second row starter Daniel Harper was handed an identical penalty, removing him from the final position on the overall podium to fifteenth position.

That comes after the front row of the grid, Seb Perez and Stuart Middleton, were handed drive through penalties during the race after being deemed to jump the start.

In regards to Perez, following a Judge of Fact report, a penalty was applied for a false start which was subsequently found to be incorrect.

The amended result sees Nicosia take the victory ahead of Dave Wooder and Tom Wood, with the latter promoted to his maiden overall podium finish in the series.

The top six is completed by Will Tregurtha, Connor Grady and Lewis Brown, which means Brown will start race three from the reverse grid pole.
