Manx man Mark Higgins will be joining the DMACK British Rally Team as they take on the task of the MSA British Rally Championship Rally Isle of Man.
Higgins along with co-driver Darren Garrod will be calling on the experience that took him to three BRC championship crowns but is aware that it may take a few stages to settle in to the rhythm of the rally.
“I’m really looking forward to the event and it’s great to see it return to a classic three-day format.” said Higgins. “It will be a challenge and take me a while to settle in to driving the car on Tarmac for the first time, but it’s exciting to be competing against so much competition. There are six guys who could win the rally and I’m hoping to be one of them by the end of the weekend.”
Higgins will be joined by DMACK regulars Elfyn Evans and Craig Parry, who wrapped up the championship last time out in Ulster will be chasing a fifth victory this season.
Evans has only competed on the Isle of Man once but is hoping it wont take long to get up to speed on the mixture of bumpy lanes and high-speed roads.
“Despite having only competed once before, I really enjoy the stages on the Isle of Man” said Evans. “There are some classic roads and a real mix of characteristics – from narrow and bumpy to fast, flowing and wide. With the drivers’ championship sewn up, our focus is on the teams’ championship and helping to secure another title for DMACK.”
