Marcus Ericsson feels that his Sauber F1 Team should be fighting for points at the Singapore Grand Prix, with the Swedish driver looking at how close he was to the points last year after finishing eleventh.

“Thinking about last year’s race, I was very close to the points by finishing in P11. As we saw positive results from the car package during the recent race weekends, our aim is certainly to fight for points in Singapore.”

Sauber bring new updates and developments on the car and Ericsson wants to score his first points of the season in Singapore.  The race around the Marina Bay circuit is one of the most demanding and exciting weekends on the Formula 1 calendar.

“The Singapore Grand Prix is surely one of most exciting as well as challenging race weekends,” said Ericsson.  “The typically high temperatures, the high humidity, and the fact that the race is held at night makes it to one of the highlights of the season.”

The Marina Bay Street Circuit offers very little opportunities for overtaking, so qualifying will be extremely important for all teams especially for Sauber who are looking for their first points of the season.  The race is a real spectacle with the lights and exotic backdrop creating an amazing weekend for the fans and drivers alike.

“For the spectators it is a real experience – besides the action on track, there are also many events going on off track.”
