Mitchell Returns To Ginetta Paddock For Supercup Debut

1 Mins read

Former Ginetta Junior champion Jack Mitchell will return to Ginetta competition after two years away as he competes in the remainder of the 2016 Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup.

Mitchell will link up with reigning Supercup champions Century Motorsport for his series debut, the Warwickshire-based outfit having secured the title last year with Tom Oliphant.

The 18 year old won the Junior title in 2014 courtesy of seven race wins with JHR Developments, before making the step across to the Renault UK Clio Cup at the start of 2015.

A premature exit from that series would lead into a British GT drive this year with Generation AMR, with Mitchell scoring three GT4 podium finishes so far alongside Matthew Graham.

After bringing his British GT season to a close this weekend at Donington Park, Mitchell has elected to enter the final six races of the Supercup season, starting at Silverstone next weekend (17/18 September).

“I am really looking forward to coming back to Ginetta for the last two rounds,” said Mitchell, who will race with backing from 4Front Motor Group and MacMillan Racing.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to gain more experience and I’d like to thank everyone at Ginetta for giving me this opportunity, as always I will do the best job I can, and hopefully a good result for my sponsors.”
