Clio Cup Renews Michelin Tyre Partnership For 2017

1 Mins read

After an absence of four seasons, Michelin will replace Dunlop as the official tyre supplier to the Renault UK Clio Cup from 2017.

The French tyre manufacturer previously supplied the Clio Cup between 2000 and 2012, before Dunlop took over the reigns.

The move back to Michelin brings the UK series in line with all the other Clio Cup championships across the world.

The change means that 2017 will mark the first season that the current fourth-generation Clio racer has run on Michelin tyres.

“We are delighted to be renewing what was always a great partnership with the Renault UK Clio Cup,” said Michelin’s UK Motorsport Manager Tim Hoare.

“We look forward tremendously to providing teams and drivers with our trademark expert service – including technical support – and also greater performance on the track in terms of lap time and longevity.”
