The Arden Motorsport driver clinched victory on Saturday before adding a seventh place finish in race two on Sunday at the Circuit de Catalunya, despite starting from the pit lane after stalling on the grid, and his third place placing in the championship is made all the more remarkable baring in mind he only scored two points in the first four races of the season.

“We had a great start, as usual: it’s a great attitude and I’m so happy for this,” said Orudzhev on Saturday on formulav8.com. “Race has been all about fight before the turn 1. I knew that Tom wouldn’t have risked too much, so I went a bit more aggressive.

“After that I looked after my tyres, keeping a comfortable pace, at the end has been a great race. Thanks to SMP Racing for the great support and congratulations to Arden for the title”.
