Colton Herta continued his strong form at the end of the EuroFormula Open season as he took pole position for race one at the Circuit de Catalunya on Saturday.

The Carlin driver, who has three wins to his name in his rookie Formula 3 campaign, took top spot at the Spanish circuit with a best lap of 1:39.427, which was 0.105 seconds faster than Ferdinand Habsburg in second.

Habsburg, who clinched the rookies championship last weekend at the Circuito de Jerez in his Drivex School machine, was 0.229 seconds faster than series champion Leonardo Pulcini, with the top three in the championship locking out the top three on the grid, albeit in reverse order!

Pulcini will be joined on the second row by Campos Racing team-mate Diego Menchaca, while Teo Martin Motorsport lock out row three, debutant Dorian Boccolacci ahead of regular driver Nikita Zlobin, who enjoyed one of his best performances of the season.

Keyvan Andres and Ameya Vaidyanathan will start seventh and tenth respectively for Carlin, either side of Damiano Fioravanti and Tatiana Calderon, both of RP Motorsport.
