JSCC Star Milner To Make Ginetta Racing Bow

1 Mins read

Junior Saloon Car Championship star Katie Milner will make her Ginetta Junior Championship debut next weekend (12/13 November) during the annual Winter Series at Brands Hatch.

Milner, who could yet be crowned the 2016 JSCC champion, will make her Ginetta bow with front-running outfit Elite Motorsport, who took race wins this season in the hands of Harry King.

The 16 year old officially won seven races over the course of her second JSCC campaign to finish second overall, just thirteen points shy of the provisional champion Matteo Zanetti.

The result is pending an upcoming MSA National Court hearing though, with Milner appealing her exclusion from a double victory at Knockhill. If successful in her appeal, she would be champion.

Milner, the daughter of former British Rally champion Jonny Milner, will make the transition into Ginetta competition with support from Richardson Transport Ltd and X9K9 Security Dog Specialists.

Milner announced the news on her Twitter page, saying: “With two successful test sessions out of the way, I can confirm I will be racing in the Ginetta Junior Winter Series.

“Having to adjust to a different driving style compared to my Saxo, with left foot braking, rear wheel drive and a sequential gearbox, I got into my rhythm very early on.

“I am looking forward to the challenge of competing in this series and working with Elite, who have been very supportive and professional, as well as providing me with a competitive car.”
