Star Rookie Trio Headline 2016 Winter Series Entry

1 Mins read

An initial fourteen car entry has been announced for the 2016 Ginetta Junior Winter Series at Brands Hatch next weekend (12/13 November), with the field headlined by the top three Rookie stars from this year’s main championship.

Reigning Rookie Cup champion Daniel Harper returns to the grid with Douglas Motorsport aiming to secure a second Ginetta title in as many months, but it won’t be easy with a competitive field including his main Rookie competition from this season, Seb Priaulx and Harry King.

Harper, Priaulx and King made a huge impact in their maiden Ginetta campaigns this year, sharing five outright race victories between themselves as they fought it out for the Rookie class title – with all three heading to Brands Hatch with ambitions of winning the Winter Series crown.

Another driver who will head to Kent with title aspirations will be Charlie Fagg, with the HHC Motorsport ace having secured a pair of outright podium finishes this season, whilst Connor Grady is another experienced contender on the grid with Douglas Motorsport.

After showing strong progression during his maiden campaign this year, Greg Johnson returns to the Winter Series in a new home at Elite Motorsport, whilst after joining the series in the second half of 2016, Harry Dyson, Jenson Dineen (Both JHR) and Charlie Digby (HHC) are back for more action.

There are five Ginetta rookies on the entry list so far for the four-race series, headed by Katie Milner. The 16 year old was a star performer in the Junior Saloon Car Championship this season taking seven race wins, and will be one to watch as she races a Ginetta G40 for the first time.

The other newcomers in the field are Ginetta Scholarship finalist Ruben Del Sarte with HHC Motorsport, Keaton Samra with debutants Fox Motorsport, Ginetta Junior Ireland graduate Morgan Quinn with Total Control Racing and privateer Finley Green.

The Winter Series will feature one fifteen minute qualifying session and two race on each day. The champion will receive a half price entry into the 2017 Ginetta Juniors or GT5 Challenge, with other prizes on offer for second and third overall, top rookie and the ‘hard charger’ award winner.
