O’Brien Graduates To GT5 Challenge With Optimum Motorsport

1 Mins read

Connor O’Brien will step up to the Ginetta GT5 Challenge next season with Optimum Motorsport.

O’Brien made his Ginetta debut during the Junior Championship outing at Rockingham in August, taking a best finish of seventeenth.

Despite still being old enough to compete in the Juniors, O’Brien has elected to step up to the Challenge next year.

That will see the 16 year old follow in the footsteps of his brother Dan, who raced in the Challenge in 2015 before winning the GTA class in the GT Cup this year.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Ginetta GT5 Challenge in 2017,” said O’Brien.

“I’m hoping to learn as much as I possibly can throughout my debut year in the hope of moving up the ladder again in 2018 to GT4.”
