Having raced for DAMS in 2016 Kevin Jörg is set to switch to Trident for the upcoming GP3 Series.

The 21 year old Swiss driver will be competing in his second full campaign in the series, coming off of the back of a remarkable final half of the 2016 series which was sealed by securing fourth place in the Yas Marina Feature Race.

Jörg’s relationship with Trident started back at the 2015 post season test in which he tested for the Italian team and the feedback he gave proved key for the completion of the signing.

Jörg made his single seater debut in 2011 competing in the Formula BMW and Formula Abarth championships. In the following seasons he took part in the now defunct World Series by Renault in the Eurocup, where he claimed several race victories and third place in the championship in 2015. That same year he also brought home second place in the Formula Renault North European Countries series.

Team manager Giacomo Ricci commented: “We are proud and delighted to field Swissman Kevin Jörg in the upcoming GP3 Series season.

“We had the chance to see him in action in 2015 in a collective post season testing at Yas Marina and we were quite impressed. He convinced me with his raw speed and for his ability to adapt.

“Back then, he stayed at the front end of the charts in every session. Kevin is definitely a great prospect and I’m sure that we will be doing a good job together this season. We are really motivated and looking forward to work with him.

“We are sure we have secured one of the quickest guns on the market! “

The Swissman added: “I’m extremely satisfied to announce that I will enter the upcoming GP3 Series season with the Trident team.

“Working together with the Milan-based squad, the goal is to stay among the frontrunners and collect several podium finishes.

“I’m absolutely confident Trident will provide me with what it takes to reach all the goals I have set for myself.

I can not wait to get back on-track with my new team! ”
