Fabby Signs Up For Creventic Bow In Silverstone 24 Hours

2016 Michelin Clio Cup Road Series champion Jack Fabby is set to make his endurance racing debut in the FIA Creventic Hankook 24 Hours of Silverstone.

Fabby has joined forces with British squad Area Motorsport to contest the twice round-the-clock endurance event in their Honda Civic Type R.

The Silverstone race is the opening round of the 2017 Creventic Touring Car Endurance Series, with Fabby set to be the youngest driver on the grid.

The 17 year old won the Road category title in the Clio Series last season with Jade Developments, having taken seven class victories.

“I’m elated to be joining the Touring Car Endurance Series with Area Motorsport. I have been following the Creventic Series over the past couple of years and it was definitely on my list of races to compete in,” said Fabby.

“The whole team spirit which comes with Endurance racing is a huge draw, obviously this is serious racing but we are aiming to enjoy the event, have some fun along the way and of course aim to finish and win our class.

“I had several offers on the table for 2017 but had decided to not jump in too quickly and to really weigh up where I wanted to be this year. Last season was made difficult when our main sponsor withdrew due to financial issues, we struggled on, funding my racing ourselves, so to come away with the championship was even more special as retiring mid-season had been a real possibility.

“Then just this week, a loyal supporter of mine from the Netherlands, stepped in with an offer of funding for which I am overwhelmed and thankful for, this has allowed me to take this drive at Silverstone. It’s humbling to know that someone you have never met, believes in your capabilities and wants to help me push my career forward.”
