Red Bull Racing has officially launched the RB13, the car they’re hoping will put them back on the top step of the podium.
The Milton Keynes-based outfit are hotly tipped to challenge this year’s championship as the new regulations place a great emphasis on aerodynamic design, the area Red Bull proved dominant in during their four-year straight wins. And with the team being the only ones to actually beat Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team in 2016, they will surely feel confident going into the season opener next month.
Its Tag-Heuer badged Renault engine is quoted to deliver 900bhp, hopefully the improvement needed to challenge for position on the track. And due to their deal with ExxonMobil, Red Bull will use different lubricants and fuel compared to the Renault Sport Formula One Team.
Adrian Newey has been called upon by the team to provide a greater input into the car’s design than in previous years, which has resulted in one noticeable detail: an open air inlet protruding upon the nose. The shark fin appears similar to the those features on the other launches: quite harsh in design.
Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo will be behind the wheel, with Ricciardo eager to hold back the Dutchman nipping at his heels.
