Andretti Formula E driver Antonio Felix da Costa says that he is looking to get over the disappointment of last month’s Buenos Aires ePrix this weekend.

The Portuguese driver heads to Mexico off the back of a dreadful run last time out in Argentina, where he crashed in first practice and a mistake in qualifying left him at the back of the grid.

It wasn’t much better for his team-mate Robin Frijns, who only managed thirteenth on the grid and fell back to fourteenth in the race.

Da Costa however is keen to make amends, and said he needs to ensure that he has a clean weekend.

If he does he believes the team are capable of achieving a top five finish.

He said, “After another decent break between races, I think as a team we kind of needed this time to really improve on ourselves.

“Buenos Aires was a bit of a wake-up call but I think as a team we are reacting well.

“All the homework we have been doing before Mexico has been very useful and I have spent lots of time in the simulator with the engineers and my teammate, Robin.

“On my side I just need to make sure I have a clean weekend and minimize mistakes which is always difficult in Formula E. I think we have to look for some points and anything in the top 5 would be encouraging.”

Team-mate Frijns was equally positive about what the team had learned from the last race, and believes it has helped them improve the car.

The Dutchman said, “We got a lot of good data from the Buenos Aires race and we have been working hard the past few weeks to improve the car.

“Our aim is for both of our cars to finish in the points and continue on the foundation we started building in Hong Kong.”

Hong Kong has been the only race where the team has picked up points so far this season, where both drivers managed to finish in the top ten.
