Oliver Bennett will race an ex-OlsbergsMSE Ford Fiesta in the 2017 Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship.

Bennett who competed in a Group N Subaru Impreza in various rallying events last season, will race for Quick Motorsport and be sponsored by Xite Energy.

And well as rallying, the 24-year-old also has experience on two-wheels as a former motocross competitor and he hopes that this experience in both disciplines will benefit him in 2017. He said: “I did motocross for ten years, where there’s 30 of you in a line at the start of a race, so I’ve been in motorsport from an early age in a competitive way.

“I’ve got nothing to bench myself against at all going to Croft, but I’m going testing next week so after that I should have a better idea of my pace.”

Bennett also admitted that the Supercar category in BRX is exactly where he wanted to be in 2017 and can’t wait to begin racing in the Fiesta.

“The Fiesta is competitive in the European Championship and I think it’s a good spec car for the British Championship. We looked at doing other classes, but with the way rallycross is growing as a sport I really wanted to be in a Supercar to see what I can do.” he added.

The first event of the 2017 Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship will be at Croft Circuit on March 19.
