Karting Star Jewiss Joins Ginetta Junior Grid

1 Mins read

With just over a week to go until the opening rounds of the 2017 season, Kiern Jewiss has been announced as the latest driver to join the Ginetta Junior Championship.

Jewiss, who turns fifteen in July, makes the transition to car-racing for the first time with Douglas Motorsport as a multiple British and World karting champion.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of finally making the step up to the Ginetta Junior Championship,” said Jewiss.

“I’ve loved my time in karting but now is the right time for me to take the next step. My aim is to take each race as it comes.

“The Douglas Motorsport team have been great from day one and have helped me to make the transition from karting as smooth as possible.”

Jewiss is part of the Mark Blundell Partners’ Young Driver Academy, which is headed by ex-Formula Renault BARC champion Kieren Clark.

Clark commented: “This is going to be the steepest learning curve of Kiern’s career so far. The lateness of the decision hasn’t given us the greatest time to prepare but I have no doubt he will get to grips with it quickly.”
