Fresh off the back of his first points finish of the season in Spain, and his best result in Formula 1 to boot, Pascal Wehrlein is brimming with confidence as he heads to Monte Carlo this weekend for the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Sauber F1 Team driver scored four World Championship points in Spain after being classified eighth, which beat his tenth place finish in the 2016 Austrian Grand Prix whilst driving for the Manor Racing MRT outfit, and with more updates planned for this weekend in Monaco, he is positive the team can continue their upward swing in the Principality.

“Racing in Monaco is always special – it is fascinating and challenging at the same time, but also because of the tradition and the exciting Formula 1 races in the past,” said Wehrlein.

“It is a real challenge for us drivers, as we need to drive very precisely. In order to be fast we are forced to drive the cars millimetres away from the barriers, but I like these kinds of challenges.

“Looking back on the Spanish Grand Prix weekend, we travel with good memories to Monte Carlo. We need to keep working in this development direction to further improve, but I am positive that we will make another step with the new parts on the car in Monaco.”
