Daniil Kvyat feels there is pace still to come from Scuderia Toro Rosso this weekend at Silverstone, with the Russian having finished inside the top twelve in both free practice sessions on Friday.

Kvyat ended the opening session an encouraging seventh fastest, but ended the afternoon session down in twelfth, with the twenty-three-year-old only able to improve by 0.333 seconds between sessions.

However, Kvyat feels there was potential in the car on Friday, and he believes they know what they need to do in order to have a competitive weekend, something that he needs after just two top-ten finishes in the opening nine race weekends of 2017.

“We did everything we had to do for today,” insisted Kvyat. “FP1 was better than FP2, so there’s still a bit of things to work on for tomorrow.

“The windy conditions don’t make our job any easier but, overall, the car doesn’t feel too bad even if it’s not exactly where I’d like it to be.

“We think we know what to do to improve the car for FP3 and qualifying, so let’s go for it at an always challenging Silverstone.”
