The Asia Talent Team secured their first podium in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3 Junior World Championship.

Kazuki Masaki was battling for the win in the sunny yet extremely windy conditions. He and team mates Ai Ogura and Yuki Kunii were desperately trying to keep Dennis Foggia at bay, with the leading three all having a fantastic race. Unfortunately on lap six, Kunii suffered a highside bringing his race to an early end. He suffered a broken arm and was transferred to hospital for treatment.

Back in front, and Masaki was desperately trying to catch up to Foggia in a bid for victory, with Ogura having his own battle with Aaron Polanco just behind. Ogura took third from Polanco on the final lap, who subsequently crashed out leaving the Asia Talent Team rider to comfortably bring home a podium for the team. Masaki pushed and pushed to keep up with Foggia but it just wasn’t meant to be as he crossed the line in second to take his first ever podium in the Junior World Championship.

Andi Farid‘s race was unfortunately cut short as he was caught up in an incident at turn one. Fortunately, the rider was okay.

The Asia Talent Team next head to Jerez on September 17th after their summer break. Kunii aims to be back to full fitness and Masaki and Ogura look to continue their rostrum streak.
