The Kaspersky Motorsport team are happy after the first free practice session at Spa-Francorchamps ahead of the 2017 Total 24 Hours of Spa.
Giancarlo Fisichella set the best time for the team of 2:21.137 in the #55 Ferrari 488 GT3 to finish the damp session in ninth place.
“The track was a bit green” said Fisichella. “It was raining last night, and in the middle of the session when I was in the car it was raining again. It was low grip – sliding on the fours wheels overall, but it was acceptable. The car balance wasn’t too bad, about right”
Looking ahead to qualifying and the race, the Italian is confident with the task ahead, but knows it wont be an easy task.
“It’s a tough race, there are many PRO cars with a really strong driver line up and crew, anyone can win, everyone is quick.
“We are in a good shape, obviously it would be nice to get to the end of the race and score a podium, that would be great, but we are here to score the best result, we will put all of our efforts to make it happen.”
Team-mate James Calado added, “It was a bit green, very low grip, it all seems to be working fine so far. It’s early days and we will work on the set up now and then in pre-qualifying, but so far the car feels fine.
