Eight weeks have gone by since the GP3 Series was last on track with the drivers raring to go at the Red Bull Ring.
Campos Racing‘s Raoul Hyman is hoping to take advantage of the recent chance he had to take part in the Hungarian round of the EuroFormula Open, where he qualified on pole position before coming home in third.
“My Campos Racing team asked me to step in for one of their regular drivers and we had a great weekend — we were on for a win from pole, but I had to avoid a collision at T2, which cost me a few places.
“It was really good to get into a Formula 3 car again — I am grateful to Campos Racing and Adrian Campos for the opportunity and happy to score points for the team.”
Hyman is hoping that the impressive form he showcased there will transition into his GP3 campaign.
The opening round back at the Circuit de Catalunya Hyman claimed an eighth and a seventh place finish.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back into GP3 action at Spielberg this weekend.
“It’s been a long break and we have worked hard on understanding what we need to do with the car since Barcelona in May and I’d say we are ready, especially after my surprise call up to race in the Euroformula 3 weekend at Hungaroring.”
