Alfonso CoppolaEnzo de la VegaKimi PatovaMykyta KalininRenzo Ferreira and Robert Schotman were treated to a visit by the man himself, Valentino Rossi, who showed up to day three of their training programme when the lucky six visited the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for a track session.

After all the excitement of meeting their riding hero, the boys undertook a course with the Andreani Group, who explained the workings of motorcycle suspension. They were then visited by Yamaha Motor Racing’s Managing Director Lin Jarvis, who gave advice on how to manage and advance their racing careers.

An early start was on the cards for the Master Camp riders, but they didn’t mind much as they knew there was a Yamaha YZF-R3 waiting for them at the Misano circuit. After a rider briefing led by Francesco Bagnaia, the group headed to the track to put their new found skills into practice. But to their surprise, nine-times World Champion Valentino Rossi showed up to take part in the timed session alongside the camp riders. After their track time came to an end, the six were given a quick photo opportunity before saying their goodbyes.

The theory session was led by Evangelisti Damiano and Tommaso Noccioli of the Andreani Group, who were on hand to answer all the Master Camp riders questions regarding bike set-up and other technical issues.

Jarvis then returned for a second class, where he spoke about the management side of the industry and just how important it is to build successful relationships with teams, sponsors and other industry professionals. The riders will meet up with Jarvis once more on Friday.
