As she continues to assess her options ahead of the 2018 season, Sarah Moore will make her debut in the MINI CHALLENGE – JCW event this weekend. Moore, who has raced in the Cooper Pro category previous to this, will be after a strong result at Brands Hatch.
The former Ginetta Junior champion has spent the year out of the line light though did appear at the MINI Festival in July with AReeve Motorsport in the Cooper Pro class. She’ll return to the outfit this weekend with JCW remaining an option for Moore.
She said: “I’m really looking forward to racing in the JCW class this weekend. I’ve raced with the team before and they were a great crew and I think we work well together, hopefully that will translate into good results this weekend but it is a very competitive championship and I’m under no illusions of just how tough it will be to get good results.”
While racing in the Cooper class last month, she picked up two sixths, a seventh and a tenth in a fairly strong field. She will need to step her performance though for a top ten finish in the more powerful JCW cars.
Prior to this weekend, she has been testing the car at Snetterton and is familiar with the Brands Hatch GP layout, having raced here in the Henderson Insurance LMP3 Cup earlier this season.
“I think the Snetterton test has helped me get to grips with the car – which has a lot more power and downforce than the Minis I’ve raced this season – and hopefully combined with my knowledge of the GP circuit I can be on the pace quite quickly.”
JCW will streamed live this weekend, as Brett Smith looks to extend his 123 point championship lead over David Grady. Meanwhile, Max Bladon currently leads the rookie cup.
