In post-race scrutineering, it has been revealed that Toby Sowery‘s #51 Lanan Racing car was not compatible with the BRDC British F3 Championship regulations and thus loses the 25 points he earned for winning race two.
As a result of this exclusion, second place Krishnaraaj Mahadik will inherit the race win on his first weekend back in the series since 2016. The Indian was pleased with the result, as it was Double R Racing‘s first of the season, though odds will be against him to repeat the result in race three as he starts in ninth.
Sowery, who failed the ‘eligibility criteria’ loses the win and his fastest lap from the race. The Lanan driver loses valuable points in the championship and will start from fourth for the final encounter, based on yesterday’s lap time.
Elsewhere, the race ending incident between Jeremy Wahome and Ben Hingeley, in which only the former continued has resulted in Wahome being excluded from the results and a potential sixth place.
As a result of all this, Mahadik won race two from James Pull and Enaam Ahmed, who extends his championship lead. Nick Worm will also take ninth place, his best result of the season.
