Scuderia Vittoria Blog: An Introduction

2 Mins read

Leading British racing team Scuderia Vittoria has become the first team to join The Checkered Flag’s list of bloggers for the 2012 motorsport season.

The first instalment of news from Danny Buxton and the team will discuss how the team has performed to date in its respective series, before discussing their assault at Silverstone this weekend in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship and Total Quartz Ginetta GT5 Challenge…

Scuderia Vittoria has taken giant steps forward since it came to fruition in December 2010. After a strong debut season in 2011, which saw us earn victories in both the Avon Tyres British GT Championship and AirAsia Renault Clio Cup, we have now expanded our operation ahead of the 2012 motorsport season.

Our efforts in the AirAsia Renault Clio Cup have doubled to a four-car line up for the 2012 season, where we have welcomed KX Akademy and One Call Direct backed Stefan Hodgetts, as well as the One Call Direct backed trio of Vic Covey, Finlay Crocker and Ronnie Klos.

As a team we have proved that we are a very efficient, front-running force in the championship, with Stefan having already sealed two victories and numerous podiums despite his late entry into the championship.

The One Call Direct trio have also continued to impress during their debut showing in Britain’s premier one-make saloon car championship, and I expect them to continue to develop as they remain as determined as ever to mix it with some of the UK’s promising racing talent.

2012 also marks our entry into the Total Quartz Ginetta GT5 Challenge with drivers Diego Guggiari and Ben Constanduros, also renowned for his commentary on World Touring Car Championship coverage.

Both drivers have made significant progress so far during the course of the 2012 season and, we now have the potential to challenge within the top ten on a regular basis as the season draws to a close.

In 2011 Scuderia Vittoria entered the Avon Tyres British GT Championship with Ferrari 458 machinery, not only did we have a strong debut season in the series, but we remained in contention for the championship until the final race at Silverstone.

Scuderia Vittoria return to the scene of last year’s tense thriller but with a different driving combination behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458. In what has very much been a learning year for GT3B Class Champion’s John Dhillon and Aaron Scott, the pairing have improved vastly together over the course of the season, with the experienced Scott proving to be the fastest Ferrari driver on the grid at present.

Both drivers will be hoping for a breakthrough weekend as they aim to push for their first podium placing of the season this weekend.

Thanks for taking the time to read our introductory blog, keep up to date with all the latest progress that the team is making after each round.
