Early punctures have dropped Sebastian Vettel and Felipe Massa to the back of the field on the opening lap of the British Grand Prix.
As the field got underway Vettel tried to defend his position after Webber took the lead, Lewis Hamilton positioned himself on the inside of Vettel for the first corner with the front wing of the McLaren catching the right-rear wheel of the Red Bull.
Heading in to the Maggots complex the tyre on Vettel’s car gave way with the young German spearing off on to the run-off area, lucky to catch the car before it spun.
He would manage to nurse the car back around to the pitlane but would exit in last place.
Felipe Massa is believed to have made contact with team-mate Fernando Alonso and picked up a right-rear puncture, thankfully for the Brazilian he didn’t lose as much time as Vettel but wouls still exit the pits near the back.
