Spengler Leads Nurburgring Practice

DTM championship leader Bruno Spengler started his weekend at the Nurburgring in a perfect way after topping the time sheets with a time of 1:24.222 in the closing seconds of the first free practice.

The AMG Mercedes C-Class driver lead the Audi quartet of Martin Tomczyk, Mike Rockenfeller, Markus Winkelhock and Alexandre Prémat.

David Coulthard would finish the session in sixth taking the honours of second fastest Mercedes.

Spaniard Miguel Molina drove the highest number of laps on his Nurburgring debut finishing the session in sixteenth after an impressive 46 laps and a distance of 166.934 kilometres. Mike Rockenfeller and Paul di Resta completed a total of 42 laps.

The top eleven times from Spengler down to Mattias Ekstrom were covered by just one second.
