Coates Stays In Ginetta Juniors For 2011

1 Mins read

Rising star Max Coates has signed up to remain in the Ginetta Junior Championship for a second year in 2011. The 17 year old, who finished eleventh in the 2010 Championship before taking second in the subsequent Winter Series, made the announcement at the Autosport International Show.

Max commented “I am thrilled to have signed up to race in the Ginetta Junior Championship for 2011; it gives me great satisfaction and a goal to aim for.  After a successful campaign this year in both the main and winter series' I am hoping to be able to secure the title and will be putting everything into achieving this.  I am currently training harder than I ever have done and feel like my fitness is improving week by week.  I can't wait to get back out in the Ginetta again and hope to start some testing soon if my budget allows, at the moment this is unlikely.”

The MSA Academy star spent his weekend at the show volunteering on the MSA stand, as part of his Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence course at Loughborough College. He also used the show to seal a new sponsorship deal, with 019 Racewear, who join Harron Homes and Oxy as his main sponsors for 2011.

After the show on Friday, he also attended the annual Ginetta awards, where he received a special award for 'spirit of the year'. As he starts looking towards the new season, Max will attend the Porsche Human Performance Centre at Silverstone for a fitness assessment, before attending the Ginetta Media Day in March ahead of the season opener at Brands Hatch in April.
